The day is Saturday 9th November 2003. I'm still 'at work' and it's a Saturday. My wife and child are in the house (I work from home) enjoying themselves and having fun. And I'm 'working'.

That's the problem (I know, I know - I should use the word 'challenge'). I see what I do as work. It feels like work. It tastes and looks and sounds like work. Work, work, work...work.

Isn't it odd that when you type or say a word over and over it suddenly becomes meaningless. Meaningless. Meaningless, meaningless, meaningless, meaningless, meaningless, meaningless...

What I do is work. What I want to do is live. Just to be and live in the moment. Be free. Whatever that means?

The way I tend to use links pages like this is to scan down them, see a link or two that I've never seen before and try it out. Very often I never go back to use the links page again. Link pages, therefore, are like signposts that we individually put up for our fellow Web Surfers who find them by chance.

Are you into Direct Mail as a way to make a living? I am. Or at least, I'd like to be.

If you are already a Direct Mail and Direct Marketing (DM) afficionado then you'll probably already know the name 'Gary Halbert'. If you're not (yet) into DM then you should read this guy's work. He's brilliant. He really is.

I'm not the first person to spot his talents of course. But he's one of those characters that, for a non-US audience, is unheard of. But once you start looking into DM you have to turn to the USA for inspiration and ideas. And the BEST place to start that process is by turning to Gary Halbert's superb resource...

Like many people (you?) I've 'struggled' with Time Management in the past. That's to say that I've tried to be as productive as I can be but sometimes - often - I've failed miserably.

I mean, have you ever had one of those days when you say to yourself 'What did I DO today? What did I achieve?!' You seem to have spent your entire day 'doing things' but not achieving things. Whatever things are anyway.

Of course, one of the underlying themes of our society is that it is wasteful not to be 'doing things'. There is, I feel, a strong, Protestant work ethic running through our society - underpinning it and directing it.

You can't allow yourself, so the social more goes, just to BE. You have to DO. Indeed, when we introduce ourselves to new people we meet, we invariably explain what we DO rather than WHO WE ARE. The two are inseperable in our society.

So, if you feel the need to DO more things, then this is the guy to look to. I can recommend his books and his time management philosophies.

I've been interested in hypnosis and hypnotherapy for a long-time. I think this interest began when I was about 14 (I was an odd teenager - ask anyone who knew me then).
